In keeping with the historical tradition of Vincennes, Piankeshaw Place Apartments was named in honor of the Piankeshaw Indians, a part of the Miami Nation. This site, located at 501 Hart Street, houses 111 elderly, disabled and handicapped persons in one-bedroom units. The residents enjoy the conveniences of in-house bingo games, dinners, church services and other community programs. Piankeshaw Place Apartments was constructed in 1973.

Pick up an application at our office located at 501 Hart Street, Vincennes, IN 47591 inside Piankeshaw Place. All applications must be completely filled out. When your application is complete, call us to schedule an application appointment. We do not accept applications via mail. Background checks are required.
At your appointment, we’ll discuss your application and let you know of anything else required for eligibility. Placement can take between six months to a year.
We have a no smoking rule in accordance with HUD guidelines. You must be 25 feet from all VHA property to smoke. There is no smoking allowed in any of our apartments. We allow pets with a pet policy and pet deposit. Our pet deposit is $100 for elderly and $200 for family. Only one pet allowed per household, and the pet must be under 25 pounds at full growth. No reptiles, including snakes, spiders, or poisonous pets, are allowed. No pit bulls are allowed on any of our properties.
